often over rough roads. Every lift, load and unload carries risk—to the machine, the vehicle
and the crew. Proper transport and handling protect the investment and prevent accidents. This guide

Know the Weight and Lifting Points

  • Check the nameplate: Typical units weigh 200–600 kg; large diesel
    models exceed 800 kg. Know the exact weight before choosing rigging.
  • Use designated lifting points: Manufacturers engineer lifting eyes or forks for
    safe hoisting. Never lift by the frame, enclosure panels or exhaust—they will bend or fail.
  • Rigging selection: Use chains or slings rated to at least 2× the machine

  • Flat, stable ground: Park on level ground; block wheels if on a grade. A tilted
    machine affects oil and coolant distribution and can trigger shutdowns.
  • Exhaust direction: Point exhaust away from work areas, intakes and combustible
    materials.
  • Cable reach: Position the welder to minimize cable length to the work; shorter
    leads mean less voltage drop and safer tripping hazard management.
  • Access for refueling: Leave space for the fuel can or delivery nozzle; never
    refuel over hot exhaust or welding sparks.
